'That was not the only aspect of life at the Fifth Circuit that stuck in Peterson's craw. In his suicide note to the judges, he asked, "How many of you have called and asked me to 'handle' traffic tickets or to get someone out of jail without bond or to clear up contempt charges pending against friends? Never once have I declined to help someone you sent to me or refused to solve some problem you had."' James Gill is a staff writer. He can be reached at 504.826.3318 or at jgill@timespicayune.com.

Death Of Copyright
by Steven T. Lowe
(This may be "the most important article written on Copyright Infringement in the last 50 years")
|
Perfect Storm
"In the last 20 years, in the Second and Ninth Circuits and the lower courts within those circuits, 48 copyright infringement cases against studios or networks were litigated to final judgment. In all 48 cases, the victors were the studios and network defendants. Most of the cases were determined by a grant of summary judgment." Read the full article by Attorney, Steven T. Lowe:

Copyright Cases Must Go To Jury
by Brooks Boliek (Hollywood Reporter)
*My copyright case, Hudson v. Universal never went to "Jury" and neither did any of my colleagues or the 40 something cases identified in the "Death Of Copyright" article above. Why?
Does the Supreme Court have a "double-standard" for "Independent Artists like me?
As you are reading this ...
"there is absolutely no person or place, where an 'Independent Artist' (whose work has been stolen) can go for help! Support my movement , "SAVE INDEPENDENT ARTISTS" and together we will change that!

$25 Million Dollar Default |
Hudson filed a $25 Million Dollar Default Judgement against Heavy D because he did not show up or respond to the $100 Million Dollar Copyright Infringement Lawsuit Hudson filed against Eddie Murphy, Universal Studios and others over the hit movie, LIFE. In 1996, Gregory hand-delivered copies of his scripts to Heavy D's office at Uptown Records and his scripts ended up in Eddie Murphy and Universal Studios hands. They used Hudson's scripts (No Harm, No Foul and Bronx House) to make the movie, LIFE and Hudson sued them.

Like Dread Scott, a slave who sued for his freedom in 1846 and lost in the state courts, playwright Gregory L. Hudson finds himself 160 years later fighting a similar legal battle. Scott was eventually told by the 'Supreme Court of the United States' that he 'lacked standing in the court because he was a slave and a black man. Hudson was told nothing; simply denied his basic constitutional right to a trial (7th Amendment), pulled from the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals Docket to argue his case, and no reason was ever given in his Copyright Infringement and Breach of Implied-In-Fact Contract against Eddie Murphy, Universal Studios and others.

2010 Supreme Court Writ |
2010 Supreme Court Writ: On January 18, 2011, the Supreme Court denied Hudson's Case. No reason or opinion was given. One of the most stunning things about the Supreme Court's decision is that Supreme Court Justice, Sonya Sotomayor had previously rule in Hudson's favor on this case at the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals, prior to becoming a Supreme Court Justice, and when this same case came before the Supreme Court ... it was denied without any opinion; simply denied. To see the denial,Docket #10-798,click link below.

| Hudson's Request for Reargument En Banc to the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals will be posted here. On March 8, 2010, Hudson was docketed for Oral Argument (to argue his case) but was pulled from the docket with less than 2 days before he was set to argue. The judges dismissed his case without giving him a chance to argue his case. |
| You can hear Hudson speak about his experiences with the court system in the upcoming documentary film, "Injustice For All: Summary Misjudgment" by Carla B. Boone. See the documentary trailer here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKGrZfozHE4 |

Section 4: Hudson v. Universal Studios
|
|
| Universal Studios and their lawyers claimed that Heavy D, a/k/a Dwight Meyers, and Jimmy (J Luv) Jenkins did not work for Universal Music Group or Universal Studios. Hudson will post a New York Times Article here, with photographs of Heavy D, Jimmy Jenkins and others together at J Luv's Barbershop and admitting that they worked for Universal around the same time Hudson delivered his scripts to them. The Southern District Court and the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals denied Hudson the right to introduce this evidence which would have sent his case to a trial before a jury instead of judges who have disregarded the law to rule against Hudson. |

March 8, 2010, is the date that the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals, in New York City set for Hudson to appear for Oral Argument (For a 3rd time since 2004) in his nearly 10 year battle against Universal Studios, Eddie Murphy, and others over a "Breach of Implied-In-Fact Contract and Copyright Infringement for the hit movie, Life, starring Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence. |
|
 |
| Without notification, the 2nd Circuit "Yanked Hudson off of the docket" two days before argument and told him that he would no longer be able to argue his case; instead, his case would be "Heard on Total Submission;" meaning that 3 judges would decide Hudson's case behind closed doors. To no one's surprise, on March 16, 2010, the 3 judges ruled against Hudson, and ... "Fined Hudson nearly $40,000.00; affirming the Southern District Court of New York's decision. The Court claims that |
|
 |
Hudson "did not oppose the fee in a timely manner; which the Court records prove to be untrue."
Hudson has appealed both rulings and his response to the fine is, "You can fine me $40 zillion dollars, it's not going to stop me from pursuing my case and protecting my work." Hudson has now taken the first step towards "Suing the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals to have his case fully heard and for full access to the Courts." |
